Penn Entertainment Granted Sports Wagering Permit With Conditions

The Massachusetts Gaming Authority (MGA) has granted Penn Entertainment Interactive and its Barstool brand a sports wagering permit, but only if they consent to collaborate with an inquiry.

The ruling followed numerous discussions between Penn representatives and the MGA, during which commissioners posed inquiries regarding the Barstool brand and its contentious founder, Dave Portnoy.

They were especially curious about the connection between Barstool Sports, a media enterprise established by Portnoy, and Barstool Sportsbook, the betting platform owned by Penn.
