The Entain Foundation, a non-profit organization backed by Entain, has committed to financing a former student program for Gordon Moody, a UK gambling addiction charity.

The Entain Foundation has backed Gordon Moody for many years, providing financial assistance and resources, and the latest funding plan is a continuation of this collaboration.

The former student program is a two-year initiative designed to build a network of individuals who have successfully finished treatment at Gordon Moody and desire to aid others who may be seeking or have just completed treatment.

The program will include a peer mentoring scheme, providing training and oversight, and offering support before and after treatment. The program will also offer some flexible part-time and full-time paid positions for former students.

The former student program will cost approximately £740,000 (€842,506 / $906,758) over the initial two years and will be fully funded by the Entain Foundation.

“We have been a strong supporter of Gordon Moody for many years, and we are pleased to continue to support the charity’s former student program,” said Barry Gibson, Chairman of Entain.

Beyond the more than £40 million we have willingly given to GambleAware, we will keep backing gambling addiction therapy in England, Scotland, and Wales.

“The Gordon Moody Alumni Program will be the first time that those who have finished treatment will be able to aid those seeking treatment. It will offer direct assistance from those who have walked in their shoes and have recovered, to those most susceptible to the negative effects of gambling.”

Gordon Moody’s Chief Executive, Matthew Hickey, stated: “The Alumni Program will assist Gordon Moody in reaching more individuals who require our assistance, placing the voices of lived experience at the core of our engagement and residential services.

“The Entain Foundation’s backing is crucial in helping Gordon Moody to expand its services to meet the demands of those who need treatment and support. We are pleased to continue working with Entain and express our gratitude for their ongoing support and financial contribution.”
