Esports betting solutions provider, Betby, has secured a significant advancement through the Malta Gaming Authority’s (MGA) authorization. This enables Betby to extend its esports wagering information and figures services to a broader spectrum of providers, particularly those holding licenses in Malta.

The significance stems from the MGA’s esteemed reputation as a regulatory entity within the online gaming sector. Their endorsement bestows credibility upon Betby and unlocks opportunities for collaborations with reputable operators.

Betby’s esports product is comprehensive, encompassing pre-match and live odds, coverage spanning numerous esports games, and a dedicated statistics hub. Operators have the flexibility to integrate this solution as a standalone esports product or incorporate it into Betby’s complete sportsbook platform.

Further enhancing its attractiveness, Betby’s solution incorporates risk management instruments, back-office functionalities, and even esports streaming via Twitch.

This authorization was among the final acts overseen by departing MGA CEO Carl Brincat, with Charles Mizzi poised to assume the role. Mizzi brings extensive experience from the finance and investment domains, which will prove invaluable to the MGA’s regulatory function within the constantly evolving gaming environment.

The MGA plays a pivotal role in upholding fairness and adherence within the industry. They possess the authority to conduct investigations and even revoke licenses should operators violate regulations. Recent instances of this include measures taken against Rush Gaming and Super7plus.

Eva Berkova, COO of Betby, conveyed her enthusiasm, emphasizing that this MGA approval represents a substantial landmark for the company.

Betby has been heavily investing in its platform for wagering on competitive gaming recently… They’ve teamed up with major players in esports analytics, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.”
Ilze Ramolina, Chief Legal Officer at Betby, stated: “We’re excited to receive approval from the Malta Gaming Authority. Collaboration with regulatory bodies is paramount to us. Adhering to regulations is at the core of all our operations at Betby.
“Securing authorization for our esports product is a significant milestone, but our ambitions extend further. We have ambitious goals to broaden our reach across jurisdictions with established regulations.”
