The entertainment giant, Caesars Entertainment, is making a significant foray into Nebraska! They are constructing the state’s inaugural comprehensive resort and casino, scheduled to debut in the early months of 2024. Here’s the kicker – it will showcase Nebraska’s most extensive thoroughbred racetrack!
Not long ago, Caesars provided a glimpse into the endeavor, unveiling sophisticated visualizations and design blueprints at a large public gathering. The enthusiasm was evident, with Columbus Mayor Jim Bulkley and delegates from the Columbus Exposition and Racing, the Chamber of Commerce, and the construction titans, Whiting-Turner, all in attendance.
This establishment is going to be massive! Christened “Harrah’s Columbus Racing & Casino,” it will flaunt a 28,000 square-foot casino area, replete with over 500 slot machines, 14 table games, and a designated sports wagering section.
But it’s not solely about the gaming. Caesars is paying tribute to the town’s cherished Wishbones bar, which shuttered in 2021, by integrating a new “Wishbones” bar and a “Blue Room” eatery into the resort. Talk about a sentimental gesture!
And wait, there’s more! A Fairfield Inn & Suites and a Townplace Suites by Marriott will be conveniently situated right next door, directly linked to all the excitement.
A prominent figure at Caesars, Todd Connelly, stated that they are delighted to introduce this captivating new entertainment destination to Nebraska. He highlighted that this project has been a true passion project and conveyed his appreciation for the community’s backing. They eagerly anticipate welcoming guests from Columbus and beyond come 2024.
A short-term gaming establishment, Ag Park, is slated to debut in the late spring of 2023. It will boast more than 200 slot machines and an expansive off-track wagering section.
